Decline curve analysis
Hello members i have question
General equation of decline curve is qt=qi/(1+bDit)1/b
So when the decline is exponential then b=0 ...my question is how the equation is going to be qt=qi exp-dt
When i subsitute b=0 i dont get the above equation!

Dear Dhiaa12,
You could not substitute that.
You can refer to folow file.

Re: Decline curve analysis
Dear Fanarco & Dhiaa 12,
Production Analysis is topic in my honours project and my thesis. I have researched some methods in PA such as: DCA, Fetkovich, Agarwal - Gardner, Blasingame, Flowing Material Balance.
If anyone have questions about PA feel free to ask. I really would like to share my experience about that. I am not sure I can answer right, but we can discuss each other more and more.
I am sorry, my English not well
Thank you and best regards,
Trường

What is "Flowing Material Balance"
Re: Decline curve analysis
does anybody has decline curve analysis in spreadsheet.it will be useful to many reservoir engineers.
I am interested in modified decline curve analysis

Re: Decline curve analysis
sorry it should be modified hyperbolic decline analysis

Re: Decline curve analysis
exponential decline gives conservative figure of reserves whereas hyperbolic gives reserves on higher side.Modified hyperbolic is in between two and nearer to realistic reserve estimates. There are software/programs,spreadsheet for modified hyperbolic decline curve analysis.I am looking for one

Re: Decline curve analysis
Just provide me with the equation then i can create the sheet for you
Re: Decline curve analysis
fanarco can you give me you your private e-mail as i am unable to attach excel file.In modified hyperbolic decline curve analysis we calculate Di,Dlim and b

Re: Decline curve analysis
Hello,
Could someone share how can we calculate Dlim, the decline rate at which the modrel switches from Hyperbolic to Exponential model.
I need sort of equation that can predict (estimate) Dlim.
Thank you!
