hi i m new on this board. i m 3rd yr. student of petroleum engineering. i have chosen the topic automated history matching for a seminar that is in our curriculum. what books should i refer to for this topic. i have never read reservoir engineering till now so i gotta start frm the basic reservoir engineering.

The basic books about reservoir engineering are :

1. Fundamentals of Reservoir Engineering by Dake
2. Reservoir engineering handbook by Tarek Ahmed
3. Advance reservoir engineering by Tarek Ahmed

and you can try "oil well testing handbook" for your maching project

Automated History matching is different than well testing , I think there is a book titled "Soft computing in Petroleum Engineering" which covers the material about Automatic History matching

thanx for ur help. my seminar went good. i have referred the books by c. mattax, dake and carlson for reservoir simulation. and used the software exodus to do history matching.
