Top Map
Hello everyone,
I am reading a top map of a reservoir ( I have put it in attachments) .
I have a question please.
I can see on Top map that contour lines don't change towards right side of the fault.
While on left side ( towards well 3 and well 4) contours change.
Can I conclude from this that upper side and left side(well 3 & 4 side) have a sealing fault
while on right side we have non sealing fault because contour lines stay at same depth?
Can anyone please refer me to concise reference for all possibilities in top map interpretation of Sandstones?
Thanking you,
Soman

Re: Top Map
The right and left fault block seems not in hydraulic communications.
Although the OWC is the same in both blocks but on the reservoir level is not the same contour.
the right line is neither contour nor polygon or fault.
there is no polygon can cross different contours
Something not true in this map.

Thankyou so much for prompt reply and quick analysis .
Can you please guide me any reference with which I can learn quickly about reservoir Top map reading?
Any short presentation or key rules of thumbs etc?

'Can I conclude from your comment here that when contours are not at same at same level we have hydraulically seperated blocks by sealing faults?
Also isnt it weird that two hydraulically seperated blocks with different contours have same OWC contact.Isnt it strange thing to see? .Have you ever seen such phenomena?
