Re: Gas-Base EOR
Hydrocarbon means Natural Gas injection WAG ???
Re: Gas-Base EOR
Hydrocarbon means Natural Gas injection WAG ???
No
Gas injection include:
1- Hydrocarbon Gas injection such as CH4, C2H6, or any mixed composition (Dry gas, Wet Gas, Condensate Gas ...)
2- Non-Hydrocarbon Gas injection such as CO2, NO2, ........
Implement of EOR methods are Depends on reservoir type, availabilities of Gas source, object of Gas injection , Technical and Economical issues.

Re: Gas-Base EOR
Yes,
I'm talking about Hydrocarbon gas specifically, and as you said Dry gas or wet or whatever.
Injecting Hydrocarbon gas alone in oil reservoir considered EOR process ???

Re: Gas-Base EOR
Yes,
In one of real case, produce gas from gas formation and then rich it by middle HC (hydrocarbon) component and inject it as Miscible EOR process.
depends on strategy for gas injection ,it is possible use HC gas for EOR process.

Re: Gas-Base EOR
I understand the process of EOR is to improve the mobility (Mainly viscosity).
Is this right..

Re: Gas-Base EOR
No
Mechanisms of various EOR methods aim at increasing displacement efficiency. for example CO2 reduce oil viscosity.
The goal of any enhanced oil recovery process is to mobilize‖remaining‖oil. This is achieved by enhancing oil displacement and volumetric sweep efficiencies.
Oil displacement efficiency is improved by reducing oil viscosity (e.g., thermal floods) or by reducing capillary forces or interfacial tension (e.g., miscible floods).
Volumetric sweep efficiency is improved by developing a more favorable mobility ratio between the injectant and the remaining oil-in-place (e.g., polymer floods, water alternating-gas processes).

Re: Gas-Base EOR
The aim of EOR is to sweep the residual oil saturation that cannot be swept using primary recovery
