local grid Transmissibility

Post by Bilal Amjad »

Adjacent global cell (8, 20, 3) has TRANSX = 0.68509 while the local grid 93, 2, 7) with thickness 1/3 of global cell has TRANSX = 0, Wt is the reason for this behavior? the parent cell has non-zero transmissibility.

I have attached the .data file. in zip folder

Are these transmissibilities assigned by yourself ??
I.e. You assigned its value for each cell manually OR calculated via property distribution by PETREL

No some pre-processor assigned these values.

Ok, So you should modify these value manually because divergence problem may occur due to high variation in tras. values with adjacent cells.

The Transferability value between two grid blocks is affected by many factors including but not limited to :

- Length of the grid cell.
- Thickness.
- Permeability of grid block i & i+1
- Area between the two grid blocks.
