Information about a J.B. Clark

Post by budo0 »

Hello everyone, I'm a student of Petroleum engineering from Croatia and I need some information about J.B. Clark. J.B. Clark performed hydraulic fracturing and release it in some magazine in 1949. I'm writting my Bachelor's thesis and I would be gratefull if anyone knows who was this guy - was he an engineer or what???

Greetings from Croatia. :)

In the book : Roughnecks, Rock Bits And Rigs, Joseph B Clark is named as a Researcher working for Stanolind Oil and Gas (Later Pan American Petroleum).

He is considered as one of the two "fathers" of Hydraulic Fracturing with Riley F Farris working for the same company, they called the process "HydraFrac" (submitted to patent in 1949), Halliburton was the exclusive licensee till 1953 where other service companies took over the license.

I know he wrote a paper back in 1949 (AIME) :
"A Hydraulic Process for Increasing the Productivity of Wells"

another one in 1952:
"A Multiple-fracturing Process for Increasing the Productivity of wells"
