The formula of antimony trifluoride is SbF3.
The antimony trifluoride hava many properties.For example, colorless FangJing is easy ChaoXie inclined. Solid. 4.379 g/cm3 density. Melting point 292 ℃.The antimony trifluoride will sublimate in 319℃ . Soluble in water, hydrofluoric acid. Insoluble in benzene, chlorobenzene and heptane. In the water hydrolysis was slow. Are gentle fluoride agent, and chlorine, bromine or five chlorinated antimony together as agent fluoride, effectiveness will increase greatly. Will antimony trioxide dissolved in excess of anhydrous hydrofluoric acid or 55% above, then the concentration of hydrofluoric acid to evaporate to dehydrate. Used in producing five fluorinated antimony and the composite metal fluoride etc.
Currently, The antimony trifluoride is produced by three chlorinated antimony and role or will antimony trioxide soluble in hydrofluoric acid and evaporate to water. Used in ceramic, printing and dyeing industry etc, also used as fluorinated reagents.
