Hetrogenity in a Gas water Reservoir

Post by Tejaswy »

Hello,

I am modeling a Gas water reservoir and I was wondering if any inputs on the heterogeneity of a Gas water reservoir.

I could use it.

Any near real permeability and Porosity data would be helpful.

If u are using BC grids. tell me the DIMENS data I will provide you the real data

DIMENS
50 50 20 /

DX
50000*32.8 /

DY
50000*98.4 /

DZ
50000*3.28/

BC grids? I am not too sure what that means.

I am working on this model where we inject water and polymers for Gas recovery. As of now with the permeability porosity I am using I cannot see any increase in them what so ever. So I thought may be if I use some real reservoir data that might help
Thanks bilal

It is very difficult to enter different values to each grid (as in your case there are 50,000 BC grids) to make a heterogeneous model for study.
However there are some correlations for porosity and permeability relationship like Wyllie and Rose , Use Excel, assume poro and generate perm for 50,000 grids

Ya I can do that, I just need a generalized set of heterogeneity for a gas reservoir to test my thesis.

tejaswy,
but why you are having so many concern with heterogeneity in your reservoir;
What I mean is you should require to your fellow Reservoir Geologist to make an export from petrel of some parameters for all-over the grid! as PORO, PERM, etc. the static model should have them already implemented, if not call on the Reservoir Geologist that works with you he should be able to do and generate those data for you...you'll have some warnings from Eclipse when using Petrel exports (and even errors of unit type and related things so be aware of that also).
Regards,
Abdelkader

P.S.: I am sorry that each time I post a comment following a request, I open more doubts and questions too but this is how I learnt and this is how it works!

The thing is that the polymer I am injecting into the reservoir is not really doing its job. Or so it seems. I am trying to pin point out the problem.

I do not hav petrel in the University, But I willl look into it.
Thanks
