Text editor for Eclipse
Hi,
I wanted to tell you of a software for writing data files.
Notepad is normally the default text editor for data files. But this is not with out limitations.
When you run text files which are huge then the notepad starts to hang.
I have a reservoir which was 5 mb+. Notepad would simple hang.
I started using Notepad++
http://notepad-plus-plus.org/
It has a very nice "find and replace" function which is very useful if you want to change the dimensions of your aquifer.
I had 33,000 lines defining my aquifer, and suddenly i wanted to change the porosity and Perm values of them. This is very easily done in Notepad++.
My notepad hung 10 times while doing this.
There is a inbuilt macros which can be programmed just like in excel.
I can go on and on about it but you will have to try it yourself to know it better.
http://notepad-plus-plus.org/release/5.8.3
This is a must for all Eclipse user.
If you guys have any other program please let me know.

It will never crash and has huge advantages like multiple tabs like Mozilla Firefox, this is very useful in comparing different data files.This is a open source code editor and Notepad replacement that supports several languages. Running in the MS Windows environment, its use is governed by GPL License.
