Retort Method

Post by DAN_ECU »

Hi everybody, actually I am working on the SCAL section of a simulation project, but I don't have information about the Connate Water of a reservoir. I found information about a Sw and So in different depth from a Lab Analysis using the "Retort Method", but I am not sure if I can use that information to estimate Swi because of the procedure of the Retort Method. I would appreciate any help. Thanks

You can compare the values of Sw obtained from cores and that obtained from open hole logs, use which is less value to be connate water saturation

Thanks FANARCO....

I was Checking the Sw values from Cores and I found small values as 5% (water wet Sandstone).. In addition the Sw values from Open Hole Logs show a minimum of 8%.. I am not sure if I can use such minimun values a Connate Water Saturation

Happy New year DAN_ECU

there are misunderstand between us,
You calculated the lowest value of Sw in logs and lowest value of cores
I mean you should compare the values of Sw obtained from cores and that obtained from Open hole logs

Please specify in details the logs and cutoffs used in calculations
and in core please specify all values you obtained
Also please inform if the core was taken within the interval of open hole or not

Cheers
