ECLIPSE observed vs simulated values

Post by halim78 »

Hello;
Is it possible to compare directly (SBHP ,PI , KH and FBHP) of build-up test for a well to simulated values from ECLIPSE(WBP WPI KH WBHP)?

Normally what I would do is compare SBHP to WBP9, which is the average pressure taken over the 8 blocks surrounding the well and the cell in which the well is in.

I'm not sure if you can compare kh from well test directly with kh from simulator. kh is estimated from well test based on the assumption that only single fluid is flowing, while you may have two phases actually flowing. That will affect your calculated kh, which may not turn out to be the absolute kh as calculated by the simulator.

I may be wrong...

Yes, you can compare SBHP, PI and FBHP with those from a simulation. However, the KH will have to calculated from the static model as a property and then compared with the KH calculated from the well test (B/UP etc.).
