3-phase fractional flow theory

Post by geeker »

Hi,

I was wondering, is there anyone here who's familiar with 3-phase fractional flow theory?

Yes geeker
It is very important subject for reservoir engineers
In fact the 3 phase relative permeability is a complex issue
it is very difficult to measure the three phase relative permeability in lab
the conventional way is to measure two phase relative permeability (Oil Water or Gas Oil), BUT,,,,, there are some correlations used to predict the three phase relative permeability

If you want them let me know

Thanks fanarco for the reply.

Actually, I was talking about 3-phase fractional flow theory based on the Buckley-Leverett solution (fractional flow curves and saturation profile type of thing).

Anyway, I know that there are a number of correlations that can be used to approximate 3-phase relative permeability, but which one give the better estimate? Recently, I used the modified Stone relative permeability model for my project since Lake (1989) claimed it is a more realistic model. Is that substantiated?

Thanks.
