Grid generation in reservoir simulation

How can I generate grid and mark the wells in a reservoir geometry? I am using an open source OPM flow for reservoir simulation. Please guide me .I am new to this field.

I'm using PETREL with inserted wells
not modified in the simulator itself

How do modify the grids if needed?Like for grid independence

Usually the Geomodeller is making this. Not the reservoir engineer

As a research student I am supposed to do that. Can you please tell about any open source software where it can be done.
