why we use liner ??

we use in completion

liner 7 in >> cemented not to the surface

so why we don't csg with the same diameter instead of it ??

wanna know the reasons plz

primarily it is economics....however it can also be used if the zone has fairly good strength ..which eliminates the need of casing...and also slotted liner is used for production sometimes depending on conditions...if the areas is sanding heavily or has poor consolidation ..production c asing is recommended.....note that liner is hung using tie back assembly...so u need not run the casing from top again...this is what saves the money

Cementing is done just across the neutral point in the string (casing or liner) from the bottom. It saves cost and on the same time meet the requirements of isolation.
