Post by explorator »

I have a question that I hope to find the answer in you forum,

Which one is heavier; the gas which removed from the separator or from the stock tank, and why?

Generally, gases removed in the first stages of separation are lighter ( more volatile ).

Notice that, it is common that the separator is before the tank.

But In some companies, there is a tank beside each well, produced fluids are transported by a short pipeline from the well to the tank ( without any processing ). Then, trucks transport these fluids from the tank to the processing system which may be in another location.

I am not totally sure, we need to hear from other members.
