Well injectivity

Post by hydrate »

Hello, good afternoon to all.

I am carrying out a work and it presented me a doubt, I would like that someone help me to resolve it, it's the next one: Which are the tests carried out in the wells to know its capacity of injectivity? and a brief description about it would be very useful.

Fall Off test is similar to build up in producing wells
But in order to know the well capacity for purpose of water injection or squeeze cement job you have to perform Injectivity test
Simply inject sea water with different rates and record the equivlant bottom hole pressure and surface injection pressure
Plot a graph Flow rate in X axis and Two pressures (surface and downhole) in Y axis, you will get the two line for each pressure .

The Intercept of these two lines is the fracture pressure
You have to confim with surface injection pressure plot

If you need more details plz tell me

The intersect of the injection rate vs injection pressure on a step rate test shows the parting pressure (page 198 of pdf linked above). Each of the steps can be analyzed as a pressure transient test (injectivity test), see page 194 of the link above.

Can this Ken Johnson book be re shared please?

And more details about how Fracture pressure is determined??
