How to Generate J function From Capillary Pressure Data

Post by piperalpha »

Dear Professionals,

I hope this post meets you well.

I have capillary pressure data from six rocks samples. I have been trying to convert the capillary pressure curves into a single Pc curve for the reservoir using the Leverett-J function analysis, but I'm having a confusion. The equation is given below:

J(Sw) = Pc(Sw)/sigma.Cos_theta * SQRT(k/phi)

My confusion is:

1. Is the Pc in the equation above the lab Pc or the corrected Pc (reservoir Pc)?
2. The sigma.cos theta, is it for the reservoir or lab?
3. Is there a constant in front? I mean - J(Sw) = 0.22 * Pc(Sw)/sigma.Cos_theta * SQRT(k/phi). I have seen that in a literature. I have also seen J = (Pc/(sigma. cos theta / 3.141) lab * (sqrt(k/phi)) lab.
I'm confused here. Which equation is the right one?

Secondly:

Now, what I have done is:
1. Calculated the J(Sw) for each rock sample
2. Merged the Sw and J(Sw) data and fitted a curve through the data points.

What next?

I look forward to your responses.

Regards
