[Ask] Coupling Geomechanic and Fluid Flow

Post by chatsoe »

Hi All,

I have a problem in my theses for coupling geomechanic (abaqus software) and fluid flow (eclipse software), I hope some of you have some material or tutorial for me about 'how to'. My Idea is : make a geological model from petrel and then import it to abaqus to build mesh, and then solving a geomechanical problem to have pore volume and permeability that will be an input for eclipse, eclipse output (pressure) will be an input for abaqus, repeated until a certain time. Here are my problem :

a. how to import geological model of a reservoir from petrel to abaqus?
b. how to coupling abaqus and eclipse?

The goal of my theses is to analyze pore pressure and stress distribution and also deformation.

Thank you so much for the reply :) :) :) :) :)

Abaqus is a finite element solution software and can be used for any engineering matters.

It is easy to convert from Petrel to Eclipse but from Eclipse to Abaqus format I'm not sure and i think nobody in the petroleum sector is interested in this deep task.

It is good idea to work on it.

Can you provide the link to download Abaqus and will try to think together,,
