Dear Tejaswy,

I agree with you that if you need any specialized application you should buy it from slb as add on. But you can do more with Petrel instead of Eclipse. Fore example importing PVT in Eclipse is much difficult than Petrel, Also you cannot QCed the PVT data in Eclipse..

What about QC your PVT under a dedicated software, which is the best way to do QC (best practice) it doesn't mean you should always tie yourself to Schlum even PVTsim is a good software rather than PVTi!

Personally, I do prefer checking the data in the software it belongs to, so PVT in a dedicated software, the SCAL in another software, etc

I can do PVT QC in Petrel by putting the lab data and any PVT correlated data on one chart then you can change the parameters relevant to that correlation or even you can change the correlation to match the real lab data.

I can show you an example if you want
