Material balance
WHY MATERIAL BALANCE IS NOT APPLICABLE TO TIGHT RESERVOIR
IF THE ABOVE IS TRUE. WHAT SHOULD BE MINIMUM CRITERIA TO APPLY MATERIAL BALANCE OVER OIL RESERVOIR.
THANKS IN ADVANCE

The Material Balance is a Pressure-volume relationship in simple words.
So it assume the tank pressure is constant and homogeneous.
In tight reservoirs it is very hard to calculate the average reservoir pressure is not constant for allover the reservoir all the time.
For that, the results of Material Balance in tight reservoirs is not reliable.
In order to apply Material Balance you should have enough pressure data for the field history.
Thank you
