Question about Gravity Drainage Drive Mechanism

Post by explorator »

The least common primary recovery mechanism in which the force of gravity pushes hydrocarbons out of the reservoir, into the wellbore and up to surface.
Gravity force is always present in the reservoir, but its effect is greater in thick gas-condensate reservoirs and in shallow, highly permeable, steeply dipping reservoirs

I want to know the expected recovery factor of this drive mechanism

and any more information about this type of drive mechanism

I'd be grateful to recieve your answers

Thanks .

The rule of thumb of the recovery factor for this type of driving mechanism ranging from 7 to 15 %. This depends on the vertical permeability and conformity of the reservoir. These figures for Oil reservoir.

If you need more details about this drive mechanism please check the reservoir engineering book for Craft.
