Estimation of oil and gas reserves

Post by dicaniome »

Hello,

I am new to the petroleum engineering field. However I would like to work on combining the different methods of estimating oil and gas reserves to produce one estimate. FOr example combining the volumetric method witht the material balance method or with the reservoir simulation method or decline curve analysis method to produce a result. Is it possible? If so, how can I go about? And how can I use petrel in this regard? If anyone also has material concerning the above please send to my email giloo12@yahoo.com or share it here.

Kind regards,

Dear sir,

Thank you for joining FANARCO.
About the estimation of oil and gas reserves, you cannot combine the methods. You can calculate the reserve by any method and compare the results with the other method. All of the methods you mentioned are for comparison.

I.e. If you have the volumetric data, you can calculate the reserve

Please check the attachment for more details..

How can reserves of a field that has undergone IOR or EOR be determined using DCA?
