Transmissibility

Hello, Currently I'm doing simulation of an oil field having gas cap gas. Before putting my query let me give a small introduction of the field. Field "A" and Field "B" is situated side by side and separated by fault. Field "A" initial GOC is @1733m and OWC @ 1748m whil...

Useful book on Gas Well Testing

Hello, There are numerous books on the well testing. Here I'm attaching a book by Alberta Energy Regulator on Theory and Practice of Gas Well Testing. The book is old and does not contain recent techniques like deconvolution, or even derivative analysis. But the theoretical derivation of of the deli...

AAPG Methods 10: Development Geology Reference Manual

Hello,

Can any one please share "Development Geology Referrence Manual". It is 10th in the series of AAPG Methods in Exploration Series.
This is book covers almost all aspect of Field Development aspect.

It would be very nice if someone please share it.

Re: Porosity-Permeability Correlation

Hello, I have a very basic question. What is the basis of plotting Porosity vs logarithm of permeability? I mean what is the theoretical background that relates porosity with logarihtm of permeability. There are tons of literature stating that poro-log of perm relationship is linear for a particular...

Re: Production from basemen reservoirs; Examples

Dear Fanarco,

Thank you very much for your elaborate description.

It is indeed very useful for all the readers in the forum.

Hats off to you.

Regarding Cuu Long Basin and White Tiger field, please start the new thread. This will be a very good learning for every body.

Regards,
Aninda

Re: Production from basemen reservoirs; Examples

Excellent Compilation and very Informative. :D :D :D May I request you to please provide some info on the challenges and limitation of basement production. I have never worked on basement reservoirs and every where I've read about the success stories of basement oil. Could you please throw some ligh...

Re: Well Test analysis interpretation

I beg to differ with you. 1. In all the plot it is pseudo pressure (m(p)) vs time. It indicates the well is gas well not oil. Therefore It may not be High GOR well. It is gas well producing with water. 2. In case of closed system the slope of derivative should be +1 in drawdown study. But in case of...

Re: Deliverability by hand question

Yes.
But in case of Isochronal, Modified Isochronal and Flow After Flow the deliverability equation is same and that is Rawlins and Schellhadt equation. You can use this equation for hand calculation.
Houpert Equation is also there but it is exhaustive and hard to calculate by hand.

Re: Well Test analysis interpretation

Initial hump on log log plot is indicating liquid efflux in the well. It means well is taking back the water into the reservoir duing shut in condition. This is very typical syndrome of gas well producing with water. At the end derivative is shooting up. I dont know the slope but from my personal ex...

Re: Deliverability by hand question

soman, It depends what is your assignment of axes. If you assign y axes to flow rate and x axes to pressure difference then your slope will be n. In case of reverse you slope will be having slope of -1/n. Since you are taking logs of all your value and then plotting on cartesian (which is perfectly ...
